Brief

A large road construction company needed a solution to guide employees through complex health and safety procedures prior to commencing work. 

The users work in dangerous, and sometimes remote environments, as such reliability and ease of use were of paramount importance. The app needed to allow quick easy access to relevant information and operate without cell coverage. The PowerApp would be replacing an existing paper-based system which was proving to be unreliable and difficult to administer.

Solution

We created a mobile first PowerApp solution that utilises Power Apps offline capabilities, as the app would frequently be used in areas with no cell phone coverage. The app provides workers with a simple to use step-by-step guide as a series of questions relevant to the task. Completed questionnaires are sent to a manager to verify procedures are followed. Workers have the ability to raise issues or concerns through the app to the management team ensuring they are acted upon. We made use of the devices GPS to record location information.
